SPRING!! OMG OMG

It was a beautiful Sunday spring day here in Mankato, MN today. I woke up bright and early at 7am, as I always seem to on my day off. I put some coffee on after awhile and let Anna sleep in until 10.

I made a fantastic breakfast with leftover potatoes, fried up some bacon, added onions and asparagus and a few fried eggs. its hard to picture it, but it was absolutely delicious.

We then set out to find more Geocaches. Look back a few posts on here for my explanation of what that is. We ended up finding 5 of them today, but had some difficulty. We are using my cell phone to do it, which has a GPS chip built in. We have been finding though that it wasn't really designed to be used on foot, so it really doesn't register slow movements, making it hard to zero in on the location of the geocache itself.

We've determined that we are going to have to buy an actual GPS unit if we want to continue doing this. After some intense research, I have found the Garmin eTrex Venture HC is the best candidate for the job. Affordable, easy to use, great reviews. and its pretty, see?

We'll just have to figure out a way to pay for it since money is tight. I may be able to get it from work at a discount, and since we haven't needed to run our furnace, our gas bills will be significantly less, so we may actually be able to afford it pretty soon.

Even though we had equipment issues while Geocaching today, we had a fantastic time out walking. We stopped at several locations, a few of which went along the Minnesota River, which was absolutely beautiful. We probably hiked a good 1.5-2miles today which felt great!
